This position is located in the Washington DC office. This is a part time position.

The Pro Bono department is staffed with dedicated lawyers and support staff around the world who develop and manage pro bono projects to ensure that the firm’s lawyers and staff have the opportunity to give back to their communities through pro bono service. In 2017, the firm devoted nearly 200,000 hours to pro bono initiatives, making us one of the largest providers of pro bono legal services in the world.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma

  • 2 years' office experience

  • Some college coursework

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Requirements:

  • A student currently pursuing an undergraduate, MBA or master’s degree

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent judgment

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task

  • Outstanding attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook

  • Interest in commitment to public service

What will your day look like?

The project assistant will offer direct support to the pro bono department’s project manager and attorneys. You will assist the team with its internal and external marketing efforts, including drafting, editing and proofreading internal and external communications. You will create reports using Microsoft Excel, and you will perform maintenance and update on our pro bono websites. You also will assist with event planning and logistics as needed. You will collect pro bono program data for internal and external reporting. You should possess excellent judgment and communication skills, as you will be called upon to interact with stakeholders both inside and outside of the firm. Finally you will provide ad-hoc administrative support, including expense reports, maintaining electronic records, and database entries.
